G-90 steel is very well protected, even when it is lower or even scraped. Galvalume steel is really a better option for roofs that are exposed to a somewhat high sodium place such as in a marine environment. Even though G-90 steel gives superb security from the elements, which is also increased with a cool Kynar coat paint finish, it is not as effectively protected against the corroding components of salty oxygenation as galvalume metal.
Steel Doesn’t Do Well in Salt Air
Steel roofing is not necessarily ideal for the ocean locations because of higher power of sodium in the air. Even galvalume metal cannot fully prevent salty oxygen from eroding it, but it is able to protect it more effectively than G-90 steel. However if metal roofing is excessively exposed to regions rich in power of sodium up, such as within the salt water conditions, then steel may become oxidized and subjected to corroding. It is therefore not recommended to use of metal roofing services within the salt water areas.
Aluminum Is Resistant to Corrosion
Aluminum is another common material used in metallic roofing, even though it is not used as often as steel, mainly because of its higher cost.
