Info:  Photoshop (I think).  Casey said this about the pic: "Well, I figured when he was younger, and probably when he was older too, he'd have nightmares about what happened to his family . . . " To honestly say, I really haven't explored that part of Gareth's psyche yet but I'm sure the potential is there--it would really add another dimension to his character no?  This picture is awesome though!  I really do admire cell coloring even though I can't do it.  I just love how she depicted his eyes too. ^_^  Thanks Casey!!!
