Title:  Six-Spotted Tiger Beetle in Ink.

InfoInk on Denril and Photoshop. This was Part 2 of our first real assignment in scientific illustration.  We had to pick a bug from the biology department's bug collection and then draw it in the correct proportions and with all the appropriate detail.  Then we had to render the picture in three different media.  This was the most difficult one to do because besides the obvious outlines and hairs, this whole darn thing is stippled!!  I spent the longest on this one not to mention I had to use a magnifying glass to see all my dots.  My eyes hurt so much after finishing this one.  But looking back on it, this one turned out the best really.  A really nice, crisp image that shrinks down nicely and still retains a lot of detail.  The other two were not as good in that area.  The hairs on the legs and the dots on his spots were added as an after thought--they were inked separately and added into the picture via Photoshop. In case this picture wasn't big enough for you, ;-) here's the close-up image!
