The log of updates to The BlackHole.  Just in case you missed something. ;-)

Well, here we are at the beginning of a new year!  HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!  May everyone have a wonderful and prosperous year to come.

Yes, I know it has been a long time since I updated (May).  Summer and my gosh-awful fall semester has come and gone.  The summer was quite a learning experience for me as I worked at NIH or National Institutes of Health as a lowly intern.  But it was a wonderful time.  This fall semester however was, I think, the worst semester I have ever had.  I had classes and professors from heck.  I am personally amazed that I survived the semester.

So as one can imagine, I did very little drawing since May.  But, low and behold, there is some new stuff!  I added one image to the Fantasy, Gargoyles, and Guest galleries.  I also updated and added some links and updated the FAQ section.  I did a bunch of managerial stuff--changing the copyright years on *every* page, rearrangement, etc.

A little belated, but the BlackHole passed the 1,000th visitor mark in the 2nd week of October 2003!  Thanks to everyone who made that possible in only eight months!!  And....someone claimed the kiriban!  Congratulations to Mad Hatter!!!  And as such, the kiriban contest has been renewed.  If you are the 2,000th visitor or around that, save the page with the counter in it and send it to me to claim your free picture!!

So, the BlackHole has seen over 1,000 visitors but I haven't had anyone email me about the possibility of a commission!  I figure that I must be doing something wrong.  I would greatly appreciate it if you guys would take the time to write me with your thoughts concerning the matter.  Am I asking too much for the quality of work I'm offering?  Is my style and genre of drawing not appealing to the masses?  Did anyone know that I accept commissions?  Is it because I refuse to draw copyrighted characters?  Please be honest, even if brutal!  I need to know everything so I can fix the problem.  Thanks!!

Well, that about wraps things up.  I do have more things to come--photos, gargoyle pics, fantasy pics, and life drawing pictures; plus that CG I've been promising you all. Look for those things in upcoming updates that will hopefully be a tad more frequent.

WOO-HOO!!  I'm done for the year baby!! *does the moonwalk with a little swivel*  As promised, there is a ton o' stuff up all over the place.  What's new?  There are several new pieces in the Guest gallery, Color Photography gallery and Life gallery.  I have some new links, I updated the FAQ, and the Miscellaneous gallery is now online.

Also, THE BLACKHOLE HAS PASSED THE 500TH MARK!! *balloons fall and confetti is everywhere*  I want to thank everyone who has stopped by and helped the site see this milestone within a mere 3 1/2 months.  *wipes tears from her eyes*

By the way, I tried to fix the font problem but was really to no avail.  You will notice that the titles of each page are in the correct font, but the remainder of the pages is whatever your computer interprets them.  I am sorry, but I am really too lazy to go through, select and change the rest of the fonts.  If it is that big of a deal to you, which I don't think it is, go download the fonts specified in the last update.

Oh, and before I forget!  Because I am officially on summer vacation, I am free for commissions!!  Please, head over to my commissions page to check it out!  If you really want a piece, act between now and the end of August before I go back to school!

Also, please, please, please go and fill out my survey folks!  I know that 500 people have seen my site and not a single one left me feedback!  Please, tell me how to make the BlackHole a better site!  Your input really does matter to me!!

What's in store for the next update?  Well, I have several CG projects in the works that will hopefully knock your socks off!  Really, waaayyy better than the CG samples I have up now.

Lo-ho!  An update!  A mini-one really.  But yeah, I put two "new" pics in the fantasy gallery and a new gift art in the guest gallery.  And as you can see, I have a miscellaneous gallery in the works--that will have stuff in it by the next update.

Also, for those who did not notice, I have a counter contest running!  Be the 500th visitor to my site (by the main page counter), save the pic of the page with the counter in it and email it to me.  This will get the 500th visitor a freebie picture of any character they want (theirs, mine, etc).  I have one stipulation however--the winner has to be willing to accept whatever format I choose.  I may not always have the time to do a full-fledge Photoshop image unless the winner agrees to wait awhile. ;-)  But anywho, the contest is up and rolling so good luck to everyone.

I had wanted to post more with my update, but I got bogged down with work over my spring break.  So when school is over for this semester, I promise there will be a truckload of stuff up.  I swear!!

By the way, I just noticed that the fonts displayed on this website don't show up on other computers.  So, unless you have the fonts True Golden, Valdemar, and Priory on your computer you are not viewing this site as intended.  I am going to try to remedy that soon or if it really matters to you, you can go and download them from http://www.flatearth.com/default.asp/ and http://www.fontgarden.com

Oh, and just a side note, I now have a Deviantart Gallery.  Some pictures might show up there before getting posted here, so go and check it out sometime:  http://washuu.deviantart.com/

The whole website is NEW!!!!  Explore and please let me know what you think either through email, the guestbook, or the survey!

I meant to put up some more artwork/pictures that I have scanned, but they still need to be formatted, and "htmled."  So that will be the next update in the somewhat near future--when school isn't overpowering my life. :-)

I know that there are a lot of older works up in my galleries--if you head over to the FAQ, I explain why.  But don't worry--I will probably tire of them by the end of the year and take them down or archive them.
