Title:  Six-Spotted Tiger Beetle in Ink Wash.

InfoBlack watercolor ink. This was Part 3 of our first real assignment in scientific illustration.  We had to pick a bug from the biology department's bug collection and then draw it in the correct proportions and with all the appropriate detail.  Then we had to render the picture in three different media.  I originally thought that this one would be the hardest to do because you kinda have to get the wash right the first time or the picture is ruined.  But to much of my surprise, it was quite easy.  I like how it very nicely tonal but like the pencil, it doesn't shrink down well--looses too much detail as you can see.  But this one was just as detailed as the other two as you can see in the close-up image!
